Funding from the Steve Morgan Foundation allows popular wellbeing project to continue

Updated: Jun 30, 2023

A Wrexham-based mental health and wellbeing charity can continue its popular HALO (Help And Listening Online) project for an extra year thanks to funding from The Steve Morgan Foundation.

Advance Brighter Futures (ABF) has supported people in the Wrexham area for over 25 years to build happier and more fulfilling lives through improving their mental wellbeing. ABF introduced its HALO project last year to meet people’s needs by offering more services and support online in response to the Covid-19 emergency.

Funding for the project was due to run out at the end of March 2021, but the Steve Morgan Foundation has provided the charity with £10,000 which will allow the project to continue for a further twelve months.

“DELIGHTED HALO CAN CONTINUE”

Lorrisa Roberts, Chief Officer at ABF, said: “Listening and responding are some of the key principles at the heart of what we do at ABF. Through the HALO project we’ve listened to – and continue to listen to - the people we support to shape the service around what is needed in Wrexham. We’re delighted HALO can continue for a further year. “The online support was introduced at a time when people really needed it, but with many restrictions still in place people continue to need HALO’s services. We’re really thankful to the Steve Morgan Foundation for providing the funds to keep this important project going to support people in Wrexham.”

“MORE THAN JUST A FUNDER”

The Steve Morgan Foundation has supported the charity over many years and also funds ABF’s administrator post, which is a vital role within the charity. Lorrisa explained: “We’re really grateful to the Steve Morgan Foundation for the support they’ve given us. We’ve said it before, but we see The Steve Morgan Foundation as more than just a funder, they are part of our ABF family.”
